Breast Cancer Awareness: Stories of Strength and Resilience

This is an episode that's near and dear to my heart. It's breast cancer awareness month.

For those who don't know, I'm a breast cancer survivor. In honor of raising breast cancer awareness, we've invited Jenna Russo to join us.

Jenna is also a breast cancer survivor and happens to be the stepdaughter of our friend, Betti Russo.

Jenna was diagnosed with Stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer as a young mom. Her son, Nicholas, was just six months old when she was diagnosed.

Jenna talks about her treatment, recovery, and life after breast cancer. Jenna's pearls of wisdom?

  1. Advocate for yourself. No one knows your body better than you! Don't let anyone tell you you're fine. If you feel something, get it checked out.

  2. If you do get a diagnosis, take someone to all your appointments. It helps to have someone else go through it with you.

  3. Get your mammogram. Early detection saves lives.
